Charles was the eighth of twelve children born to Edward Livingston More and Charity Stanley More. Charles married to Elizabeth Todd “Eliza” Cowdry 3 July 1849. They made their home first at Lisle, New York where Charles was a farmer. By 1852, the family had relocated to Marathon, New York where Charles was a farmer. In 1860, the family had relocated to Freetown, New York where Charles was a farmer. The family returned to Lisle by 1865 where Charles was engaged as a stone mason. Charles’ wife died in 1872 and he relocated to Triangle, New York; and, by 1880 to Whitneys Point, New York where, at both places, he continued his work as a stone mason. Charles married next to Frances Maria Kilpatrick on 13 February 1884. They made their home at Roxbury where he resided until his death. Charles and Eliza were the parents of four children; Dewitt Clinton More, Eva Louise More, Ida May More, and an unnamed child who apparently died at birth or in infancy.
