Mrs. Catherine Cossart
Mrs. Catherine Cossaart, departed this life, Thursday morning, December 18th, 1913, at 7 o'clock at her home at Westville. She had been an invalid for over three years and the last few weeks she had gradually failed until the end.
She was born in Canajoharie and was aged eighty-five years, six months and seven days. She went to Westville with her parents when quite a small child and had always resided there. The deceased was the last one of a family of ten children, her parents being Peter L. and Maria Nellis. She had been a member of the Westville methodist Episcopal church for over half a century, and was highly respected by all who knew her. She is sruvived by one son, William Van Derveer, or Westville; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Pope of Brooklyn, mrs. Edsil Baldwin of westville. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church, Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. The body was laid to rest beside the husband of her younger days, Crosby Van Derveer in Westford cemetery - our westville reporter.
