`*..*My Beautiful Sister...

In loving memory of
1962 - 2008...

Angela Kathleen Thomas, 46, a resident of Eureka, Calif., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 in Portland, Ore.,due to complications from Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, surrounded by her family that loved her very much.
She was born on Aug. 28, 1962, in Palm Springs, Calf., the second of three children to Charles and Catherin (Fewell) Newton.
Angie lived in California for most of her childhood years before moving to Idaho, and then Goldendale, Wash., with her family. There, she met her husband, Douglas Thomas. They were married in June of 1980 and Angie graduated from Goldendale High School in June 1981.
Her husband's work moved them from state to state often, sometimes spending only a few months in one location, sometimes a few years. Angie has lived in many states including Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho and Montana.
Angie worked for many years as a waitress in The Dalles area and Seattle, Wash., and also had worked along side her husband, Doug, for a logging company. More recently she had obtained an Associates Degree in Computer Technology. Her greatest passion, however, was her family. She enjoyed staying home and taking care of her husband and her two sons.
Angie enjoyed many things, including traveling, dancing, playing board games (which was so hard to finish whenever Angie was playing! She was always "pausing" the game...), listening to music, baking (oh, how she could bake...) and spending time with her friends and family. She also had a great love of animals and was always rescuing "just one more". She always had a pet, whether it be a fish, bird, reptile, horse or dog, but ferrets were her favorite.
Angela is survived by her husband of 28 years, Doug and their two son's, Matthew and Nathan, all of Eureka, Calif.; her mother, Catherin Hiett, The Dalles, Ore.; her father, Charles Newton and his wife, Evelyn, both of Benton, Ark.; step-father, John Hiett, and his wife, Marilyn, Jamestown, New Mexico; sisters, Deborah Jacobsen and her husband, Jon, Woodland, Wash.; and Diana Ezelle and her husband, Danial, The Dalles, Ore.; brothers, Jeffrey Newton, and his wife, Christina; and Jeremy Newton, all of Benton, Ark.; a nephew, Reece Jacobsen, Woodland, Wash.; nieces, Kasie Cook, Savannah Ezelle, Haley Ezelle, all of The Dalles; and Shannon Brackenbury, and her husband, Brian, The Dalles; grand-niece, Anika Brackenbury, also of The Dalles; a special "honorary" brother, Joseph Cook; her maternal step-grandfather, Jimmy Ray Overton; her uncle, Billy E. Fewell; aunts, Jimmie Sue Longstreth, Marion L. Christian, Billie J. Saulka, Sharon A. Clark, and Toni C. Bermudez; and numerous cousins, and other family members.
Angela was preceded in death by two nephew's, David C. Atkins in 2001 and Austin G. Newton in 2004; her maternal grandparents Alma Overton and Carl Fewell; her paternal grandparents Lydia and Ward E. Newton; her step-grandparents Mary and Roy H. Hiett; aunts, Mary N. Fullwood and Beverly J. Hobbs; and uncles, Clifford L. Fewell, Doyle E. "Eddie" Fewell, and an infant uncle that died at birth.
Private cremation was held at Win-Quatt Crematory in The Dalles with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. at the chapel at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home. (Obituary written by 天使).

Angie loved music and she loved to dance...
I remember playing a 'homemade' version of Name That Tune and Angie could guess each and every song within the first 3 or 4 notes. Not only would she get it right, she would give you the name of the artist, the name of the album it was on, and the year it was released. It didn't matter when or what type of music, she knew it.

Two of Angie's favorites (don't be judgemental! I like them, too!)

My Sharona The Knack

Another Brick In the Wall Pink Floyd

I died but did not leave you.
I am here, and have not gone.
Though my spirit left my body
don't be sad, for I live on.

My love is all around you.
Can you feel it? Can you see?
That gentle breeze upon your face
is not the wind...but me.

I'm the sweet song of a bluebird
when spring is in the air.
I'm the roses in a garden.
You can find me everywhere.

Whenever you are missing me
look up to heaven's skies.
I'm the twinkle in the stars.
I'm the sunset, and sunrise.

I'm a raindrop and a rainbow.
I'm the ocean's waves of blue;
So everywhere you go you'll know,
I live on, loving you.

I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end

He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?
