Janet married her cousin, Henry Dorr on October 28, 1891 in Rutland, Vermont.

Mrs. Janet Ripley Dorr, 90, widow of Henry Ripley Dorr, died last evening at the North Adams hospital, where she was admitted as a patient Saturday afternoon following a fall in her apartment at the Williams Inn, where she had made her home for the past two years.
Mrs Dorr came to Williamstown to make her home some 40 years ago and lived for many years at Fort Hoosac place. Her son Thomas Ripley Dorr was a student at Williams College, leaving with the Williams contingent to enter WWI. He died of illness at Roanoke Naval Hospital of complications of surgery 14 Aug 1917. Her husband, Henry Ripley Dorr, inventor and newspaper man, died in Kansas City, Missouri at age 45, 16 Jun 1904 of Meningitis.
Mrs Dorr was born in Rutland, Vermont, the daughter of US Congressional Medal of Honor winner and Mayflower descendant Major General William Warren Young Ripley and Cornelia Thomas Ripley. She was noted for her work in the arts and crafts, particularly hand-weaving.
She is survived by a brother, Thomas Emerson Ripley of Tacoma, Washington; and three nieces: Mrs George Buckingham of Brandon, Vermont; Mrs Janet Ripley Hatch of Poultney, Vermont, and Mrs Agnes Jackson of Hanover, New Hampshire.
Funeral services will be tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at St John's Church of which she was a member and will be followed with burial at Rutland, Vermont.
The Hopkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. It is requested that flower be omitted, but donations may be made to the cancer fund. There will be no calling hours.
