Death of Mrs. Mary Josephine Bechaud Occurs at the Age of 93 Years

The death of Mrs. Mary Josephine Bechaud occurred at 3:30 o'clock this morning following a lingering illness. Mrs. Bechaud was a native of Rhenish, Province of Bavaria, Germany, having been born at that place May 7, 1816, being at the ripe age of 93 years and 6 months at the time of her death.

The deceased with her husband, Jean Pierre, who died Oct. 23, 1876, came to this city in 1852 and since that time made Fond du Lac her permanent residence. Mrs. Bechaud is survived by four sons, A.G. Bechaud, J.B. Bechaud, and F.H. Bechaud, of this city, and A.R. Bechaud, of Chehalis, Wash. One son, R.P. Bechaud, died in 1903. Two daughters are also deceased, one of them being Mrs. Ida Encking, who died in 1882 and the other, Marie, died in infancy.

In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, the funeral services will be held at the St. Agnes hospital chapel. The funeral cortege will leave the residence of F.H. Bechaud, 265 South Main street, Monday morning at 9 o'clock and the services will be held at the chapel at 9:30. Interment will be in Rienzi cemetery.

BECHAUD – The funeral of Mrs. Mary J. Bechaud was held at 9 o'clock this morning from the residence of her son, F.H. Bechaud, South Main street, and at 9:30 from the chapel at St. Agnes hospital. Six grandsons of the deceased acted as bearers as follows: Adolph, Rudolph, August, Louis, Armand and Pierre Bechaud. Interment was in Rienzi cemetery.

Mrs. Marie Josephine Bechaud, died in her home in Fond du Lac Saturday morning, at the advanced age of 93 years, after a long illness. She was a resident of the area since 1852. Her husband preceded her in death in 1876. Surviving are four sons, Adolf G., John, Balthasar Bechaud in Fond du Lac and Frank H. Bechaud in Chehalis, Washington. One son, B.P. Bechaud died in 1903 and two daughters also died, Marie in childhood and Mrs. Ida Entling (sic: Encking or Enking) in 1882. According to the wishes of the deceased, the body was transferred to the Chapel of St. Agnes Hospital and from there the burial occurred beside the grave of her husband on Rienzi Cemetery.
