Adele Longbotham died Aug. 5, 2002, at age 86. Her husband, Douglas Harry
Longbotham, died Feb. 25, 2003, at age 84. There will be a private service for
both of them.
Adele Van Vechten was born July 24, 1916, in Seattle.
Mr. Longbotham was born Dec. 23, 1918, in Berkeley, Calif.
They were married in 1941 and moved to Portland in 1973. They worked together
as real estate brokers until retiring in 1996. Mr. Longbotham had been part-owner
of Oregon Realty. They were both advocates for animal charities and shelters.
Survivors include their daughters, Judy Stell-Holowa and Susan Foster; and two
grandchildren.
