Folk Figure. He was a marketing executive best known in the sports and entertainment world as "The Great Imposter". From 1979 to 1986, he crashed and appeared in countless professional sports and entertainment events. Some of his most memorable stunts included getting onto the floor during pre-game warm ups for the 1979 NBA All-Star game wearing a Kansas City Kings uniform, wearing a Seattle Mariners uniform at the 1979 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, wearing a Houston Rockets uniform at the 1981 NBA All-Star game and playing in a practice round of golf at the 1985 US Open. In 1986, Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda chased him off the field during warm-ups for the All-Star game. Bremen's most outrageous pranks were when he dressed as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader shaking pom-poms on the sidelines of a Dallas Cowboys game in 1980, and when he accepted actress Betty Thomas' Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the television drama, "Hill Street Blues" in 1985. In a 2005 interview, Bremen claimed to be retired from gate-crashing but wouldn't rule out a final bow at a future US Senior Golf Open. When the Super Bowl was in Detroit in 2006, Detroit News writer Neil Rubin called Barry Bremen to see what he had planned for the big event and he whispered into the phone, "I've been in the stadium for four months".
