Born in Dunskey, Scotland, he served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 24th Battalion, Candanian Expeditionary Force. On the dates of August 27, 28, 1918, on the Fresnes Rouvroy line, France, the brigade of which Lieutenant Colonel Clark-Kennedy's battalion was a central unit suffered heavy casualties. At this juncture Lieutenant Colonel Clark-Kennedy encouraged his men and led them forward, then by controlling the direction of neighboring units and collecting stragglers, he enabled the whole brigade in a front advance. Next day he was severely wounded, but despite his injuries, he refused to be evacuated until he had gained a position from which the advance could be completed. For most prestigious gallantry, he was awarded the Victoria Cross and promoted full Colonel. He died at age 82 in Montreal, Canada. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
