LIBERTY, Illinois: November 23 - Yesterday brought the news of the death of John Hunsaker, a former Liberty boy, who for the past year has been employed at Coldbrook, Illinois. As has been stated before, he was working with an acetylene gas plant, which exploded, shattering part of his head. It was seen at once that he could not live, so his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Hunsaker; of this place, were called to his bedside. He died at the home of Otis Barnett near Coldbrook, Tuesday, without regaining consciousness.
From the time of the accident no hopes for his recovery were entertained by the attending physicians, although every effort was made to save his life. The case was an exceedingly sad one as he was a young man in the prime of life and was to have been married next June. His fiancée, Miss Catherine Muleahy, of Quincy, was present at his bedside when he passed away and also members of his family. The funeral services were held at the Barnett home yesterday morning at 6 o'clock, and the remains, taken immediately to Cameron from where they were shipped to Liberty, where they will be interred.
A funeral cortege from here went to Camp Point to meet the remains and convey them to the Hunsaker Home, one and one-half miles north of Liberty. The date of the funeral has not yet been decided upon.
