Della was the child of James Russell "Ruffin" HUDSON (1857-1939) & Mary Jane ROWLAND HUDSON (1857-1883). She was the wife of William Benjamin "Ben" BECHAM (1877-1948). Ben & Della were married 9 December 1897 in Crawford County, Georgia. Family tradition tells that Della's mother died in childbirth and Della was cared for by her father's sister Nancy Ann HUDSON until he remarried Anise Delilah BECHAM. It appears judging from dates found concerning the death of Mary Jane ROWLAND HUDSON that she died in childbirth with a second child NOT Della.
Della's grave in 2003 is found to be sinking or settling and is unmarked other than by a crumbling concret slab.
