Donald Eugene Kramer of Salome, Ariz., passed away July 25 in Sun City West, at the age of 76. He was born May 28, 1932 in Mount Carmel, Ill., to Charles Kramer and Beulah King Kramer.
He moved to Snyder, Texas, and began working in the oil fields at the age of 17. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952 where he met his wife of 52 years Shirley Judd while they were serving together at Camp Lejeune, N.C. They were married in December of 1955.
Following his military service he began working for the U.S. Postal Service in 1962, working first in Moab, Utah, until 1970 when he transferred to Green River, Wyo. He was promoted to SPO (supervisor) in 1974 and later served as post master in Kimmerer, Wyo., until his retirement in 1988.
He and his wife Shirley began wintering in Arizona in 1991 and have been living in Salome for the last five years.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dee Anna Kramer in 1975 and a sister, Thelma Mueller.
Donald is survived by his wife Shirley of Salome; daughters Melody Anderson (Harold) of Richland, Iowa; and Lee Anna Richards (Nate) of Green River, Wyo.; brother Chuck Tanner ( Vickie) of Bullhead City, Ariz.; and sister Joyce Pickens of Minnesota; grandchildren Tiffany, Thomas, and Harmon Anderson and Kimberly Mansir; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in the fall in Bouse, Ariz.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home and Crematory.
