Mrs, James (Judy) Arens, 40, Remsen native and lifelong resident, died Tuesday (Feb. 8,1983) at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Sioux City,
after a brief illness with cancer.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen. Rev. Robert
McClintock will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.
There will be a combined Christian Mother's and Catholic Daughters of The Americas rosary at 3 p.m. and the parish rosary at 8 p.m. Thursday at
the funeral home.
The former Judy Treinen was born July 7,1942, at Remsen to Marion and Angeline Conrad Treinen. She was reared and educated in the Remsen area, graduating from St. Mary's in 1960. She attended stewardess school in Minneapolis and from 1962 to 1967 she was employed as a dental assistant by Dr. Frank Epstein.
Her marriage to James Arens took place Jan. 21, 1967, at Remsen. The couple farmed north of Remsen.
Survivors are her husband, James, Remsen; a son, Christopher, and a daughter, Debra, both at home; her mother, Angeline Treinen, Remsen; a brother, Donald Treinen, Remsen, and a sister, Mrs. John (Pat) Norris, Mankato, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marion, and by a sister, Mrs. James (Dorothy) George.
