ADA WOMAN CHARGED WITH KILLING HUSBAND
An Ada woman who reportedly told a sheriff's deputy on the telephone she was going to kill her husband was charged with his death today in District Court.
Charged with murder is 38-year-old Stella Alberson.
Her husband, Jimmy Alberson, 37, died at 4:40 a.m. Monday after being stabbed with a kitchen knife at his home, on the northwest edge of Ada, about 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Deputy Sheriff Don Kaiser said Alberson's wife, Stella, 38, called the Ada Police Dept. between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Since the residence is outside the city limits, the police notified Kaiser and told him the woman was threatening to kill her husband.
"I got her number and called out there," Kaiser said. "She told me her husband was passed out and lying on the couch and that she was thinking about stabbing him. I talked to her a while and told her she shouldn't do such a thing as that."
After the telephone conversation, Kaiser said the Ada woman called back to the police department and "said she thought she had stabbed her husband."
"When I got to the house, he was bleeding badly from a stab wound in the side," Kaiser said. "He apparently had been stabbed and left the house. When I got there, he was in the driver's seat of a pickup truck near the house."
Alberson was rushed to Valley View Hospital. Spokesman at the hospital said he died at 4:40 a.m. Monday.
Mrs. Alberson was arrested at her home and taken to the county jail. The charges were filed today by District Attorney Gordon Melson.
