Death: Jul. 5, 1905

Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General, US Congressman. Served as a General in the Union Army during the Civil War. Elected to represent Wisconsin's 3rd District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1863 to 1871. Also served as a Member of the Wisconsin State Legislature in 1860, Mayor of Lincoln, Nebraska in 1873, and Justice of the Nebraska State Supreme Court in 1878. (bio by: K)
