Webster Sackett, 85, of Hemet, CA,
died Saturday (May 14, 2011) at the Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, CA. Willis was born on 27 June 1925, in Pleasant Hill, Pike County, IL, to the late Mert and Cora (Franklin) Sackett.
He worked at Sackett Ornamental Iron in the Los Angeles, California area for many years and as a security guard prior to his retirement in 2008.
Mr. Sackett served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1950 to 1953. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the
Bronze Service Star. He enjoyed fishing, football, gardening, and camping. Mr.
Sackett was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, and the Church of Christ.
Mr. Sackett is survived by his wife, Patricia of Hemet; two step-daughters,
Troie Jean Wilde of Ontario, Canada and Donna Scrim of Indiana; a step-son,
Ricky Don Ashley of Nevada; a twin brother, Mr. Willard Sackett; and five sisters; Mrs. Mary (Charles) Borrowman, Mrs. Lula Mae (William)
Bradshaw, Mrs. Juanita (Frank) Miller, Mrs. Cora (George) Watts and Mrs. Myrtle (Maxie) Tharp. He was preceded in death by his
parents, a two brothers; Mr. Lacy Sackett of Whiteside, Tennessee and Mr. Russell Sackett of Detroit, IL,
two sisters Mrs. Annabelle (William) Radefeld of Baldwin Park, CA and Mrs. Hattie
(Arthur) Taylor of Clarence, MO, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and interment was May 24 at the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California. Inland Memorial Harford Chapel, Hemet, CA handled the arrangements.
