When she receive an Oscar nomination for her role as 'Apple Annie" in 1933's "Lady For A Day", she was the earliest-born actress to be afforded that honor. Among her other popular films were "Dinner At Eight," "A Star Is Born" (1937 version), "Four Daughters," and "Tom Sawyer." She also appeared with legendary screen starlet Jean Harlow in three movies.
