Anna Movrin was the daughter of Peter and Maria (Rozich) Movrin (or Maurin) of Slovenia. At the age of twenty-two, she left her home and came to Osceola Township, on the outskirts of the bustling mine town of Calumet, Michigan. It was in Calumet that she married Peter Gasperich, twelve years her senior, on May 19, 1897. They moved into a home at 118 Bush Street in Osceola, where "Annie" kept up to eight boarders at a time.
Annie and Peter were the parents of three children together. Their first son, also named Peter, was born in 1900. John followed in 1902, and last came a daughter, also named Anna, in 1907.
An embolism took Annie's life in 1912. She was preceded in death by her daughter Anna in 1908 and survived by her husband and sons. Peter later married Annie's sister Katherine Movrin (Maurin).
