Idaho Governor, Boise Mayor. Reaching Idaho in 1862 s a 15 year old miner seeking to make his fortune in the gold rush, he went on to become the state's most prominent lawyer and had a reputation to have tried more murder cases than any attorney in the country. He was mayor of Boise, Governor of Idaho, and ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate. His administration as Governor from 1911 until 1913 established highway districts, the state Board of Education, and a banking law. (bio by: David M. Habben)
