A BOY DROWNED--Joseph Flint, aged eleven years, was drowned yesterday afternoon by falling into the water from a log at the foot of Brook street.
The boy was playing with a young companion named Sullivan, who, as soon as he noticed the accident, ran to the home of young Flint, 141 Brook street, and informed his mother of the sad affair.
The body was recovered in about thirty-five minutes from the time, but life was extinct.
Coroner De La Hooke was notified, but an inquest will not be held.
Now that the warm weather has set in, accidents of this kind will become more numerous.
It would be as well if the Esplanade Constable were instructed to patrol the dock in the vicinity of the rafts during the afternoon, but especially after school hours.
