US Congressman, Rhode Island Governor. Elected to represent Rhode Isalnd's 2nd District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1845 to 1847. Also served as a Member of the Rhode Island State House of Representatives in 1826, and Governor of Rhode Island from 1831 to 1833.
