Musician. Born in Auvergne, Arkansas, he learned to play piano as a child and was playing guitar by age 15. Taken by the blues, he became one of the foremost delta blues harmonica players of his generation. In the 1950s, he toured with Sonny Boy Williamson and while playing with guitarist Big Jack Johnson, Sun Records producer Sam Phillips signed him to a contract. Some of his notable hits as Frank Frost and the Nighthawks included "Hey Boss Man", "The Mighty King", "My Back Scratcher" and "Frank's Jump". He also performed with artist Jelly Roll Morton, Chip Young and Sam Carr, into the 1970s. He died of cardiac arrest in Helena, Arkansas. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
