Detroit Mayor. Served as 51st, 54th and 56th Mayor of the City of Detroit (1922 to 1923, 1924, 1927 to 1929). He was also a member of the Michigan State House of Representatives from 1908 to 1909. The John C. Lodge Expressway in Detroit was named in his memory.
