US Congressman. He was elected as a Republican to represent Pennsylvania's 17th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1867 to 1871.

This vessel is the namesake of Rep. Morrell. She was launched in 1906 and sank in a storm in Lake Huron in 1966 with the loss of all but one of her crew of 29. -
