Boxer. Born Gerardo Gonzalez, in Palo Seco, Cuba, he reigned as the World Welterweight Boxing Champion from 1951 to 1954. He was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 1985, and the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990. His height was 5'10''. In 1997 he was featured in the documentary, "Champions Forever: The Latin Legends."
