Daughter of George Schaaf and Mary Robertson. On June 10, 1937, Ethel married Amos Martin Baldwin at Barron, Wis. Both Ethel and Amos are buried in the family plot in Wayside Cemetery.
Nina E. Baldwin, 93, Rice Lake, Wis., formerly of Dallas, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Heritage Manor, Rice Lake.
She was born March 2, 1917, at Chetek, the daughter of George and Mary (Robertson) Schaaf. She grew up in Chetek and graduated from Chetek High School.
On June 10, 1937, she married Amos Baldwin at Barron. Nina and Amos farmed in the township of Arland and moved to Dallas in the mid 1960s. Nina cooked at Hughes Nursing Home, Barron, and later at the Dallas Nursing Home. She retired in 1988.
Nina enjoyed fishing and singing in the ladies chorus. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member at Salem Lutheran Church, Barron.
Surviving are a son Butch (Rozell) of Dallas; a daughter Gerri Gargulak of Rice Lake; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson Andy and eight brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, from Salem Lutheran Church, with Rev. Ronald Mueller officiating and burial at Wayside Cemetery, Barron.
Visitation was held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday from Rausch and Steel Funeral Home, Barron, and an hour prior to the services at the church.
