Many of the Newport people will remember Miss Della Thompson, the noted pianist who visited this place a few years ago with a theatrical troup. She remained here one week with the troup, and during her stay she made many warm friends. She was frequently encored while displaying her musical talent in a difficult piece on the piano. About one year ago she was united in wedlock to a Chicago gentleman by the name of McKay. Last week her remains were shipped to Dana for interment. She was a native of this county where she resided the most of her life. She was the daughter of Albert Thompson, a Union soldier, who died in Clinton, this county, October 16, 1889. Her mother died when she was a small child. She was a niece of Uncle Evan Thompson. She was interred in the Helts Prairie Cemetery.
