"Laryl 'Joe' Heitritter, 60, of rural Hull died Thursday, Aug. 20, 1998, at his residence. Graveside services will be at 10:15 a.m. today in Sheridan Township Cemetery near Boyden, Iowa, with the Rev. Matthew Draffen officiating. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today at First Reformed Church in Boyden with the Rev. Matthew Draffen officiating. Visitation was Friday. Arrangement are under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Boyden.
Mr. Heitritter was born June 12,1938, in Hull, the son of Lewis and Marie (Bosman) Heitritter. He attended country schools and graduated from Boyden High school in 1955. He married Sharon Meester on Dec. 26, 1959 in George, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Boyden area until moving to a farm near Hull. He was a member of First Reformed Church, where he served as an elder. He was a Sheridan Township trustee for Sioux County, Iowa and served on the board of Boyden Coop Elevator. He enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include his wife; three sons Steven and Laura of Boyden, Keith and Tracey of Spirit Lake, Iowa and Joel and Connie of Hull; six grandchildren, Paul, Joey, Emma, Jonathan, Jake and Thomas; and two brothers, Ronald and his wife Lynn of Wayzata, Minn., and Merwin of Boyden. He preceded in death by his parents."
