Sarah Gail Richards, wife of Walter John "Jack" Richards, Jr., of 108 Woodfarm Road, Seneca, S.C., died Monday, July 9, 2007, at Hospice House of the Upstate, Anderson, S.C.
A native of Roanoke, Virginia, she was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. An accomplished stained glass artist and owner of Briar Rose Stained Glass. Sarah Gail extensively exhibited her work throughout South Carolina and at Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in New York. Notably, she was placed on the South Carolina Arts Commission Roster of Approved Artists, and became an "artist in residence" in the state of South Carolina.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Richards is survived by son, Nathan Richards of Seneca, S.C.; and sister, Shirley Lou Turner of Roanoke, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007, from St. Mark United Methodist Church, Seneca, S.C. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, Va.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Hospice House of Anderson (Hospice of the Upstate), 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC, 29621. www.hospicehouse.net.
