LIVINGSTON -- Funeral services for Fred A. Brown, 96, of Allons, were held at 11 a.m. today, Tues., March 16, at Martin Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery.
Mr. Brown died on Sun., March 14, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.
He was born on March 20, 1902, in Overton County to the late Jim and Ettie Fletcher Brown. Mr. Brown was a farmer and a member of Martin Chapel United Methodist Church.
His family includes a son, Truman Brown of Allons; three daughters, Geneva Melton of Cookeville, Winnie Lou McDonald of Ohio, and Carolyn Martin of Allons; two brothers, Luther Brown of Cookeville and Walmon Brown of Rickman; a sister, Mildred Maynord of Rickman; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Edna J. Clayborn Brown; three daughters, Clarice Akers, Edna Hummel, and Patsy Brown; and a son, Norman Brown.
Pallbearers were Ed and Mike Melton, Chris and Jeff Hummel, Steve and Matthew Martin, and Donnie Brown.
Revs. Ron Harris and Perry Clayton officiated at the services.
