Mary Loy Cavaleri of Birmingham, died June 16, 2000. She was born on July 27, 1912 to the late John Hayes and Minnie Johnson Loy and attended Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, Tennessee and graduated from Samford University.

Mrs. Cavaleri taught in the Tarrant School System for more than 25 years before retiring. She was a member of the Center Point First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles Scott Cavaleri, as well as her brothers, Kenneth and Ralph Loy.

She is survived by her brother, Cecil Loy and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Roebuck Chapel.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that memorials may be made to The Center Point First United Methodist Church.
