Arthur E. Brown, 81, Sugar Ridge area farmer, died in Wood County Hospital Tuesday at 1 p.m. He had been hospitalized three weeks, but his death came unexpectedly.

Mr. Brown was born June 16, 1872, on the same farm which he farmed until a few weeks ago. He was the son of Amos and Sarah Brown.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church, Bowling Green.

Surviving are his wife, the former Lettie Frederick, whom he married in Defiance in 1938; two sons, Fred Brown, of Garden City, Mich.,(st son) and Solomon (Reverda)Householder(St son), of Toledo; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Kaladon,(st dau) of Akron, and Mrs. Helma Wonsitler(St dau), of Portage; and six grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Deck Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with the Rev. John C. Searle officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at Deck's Thursday afternoon and evening.
