Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in the Union Army in Company A, 1st Pennsylvania Cavalry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on April 5, 1865 at Paine's Crossroads, Virginia. His citation reads "Capture of Virginia state colors." (bio by: Don Morfe)
