"AGED LADY DIES –
Carlisle, Ind., July 5
—Mrs. Martha Greenwell, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Hamm, in this
city Saturday, June 25, after suffering forseveral months with paralysis.
The deceased came here from Loogootee, Ind., about one year ago. She was born
in Kentucky Jan. 28, 1832, and for many years lived near Loogootee, in which
city she is survived by a number of relatives. At the time of death she was 77
years, 4 months and 27 days of age.
The deceased was a devout Catholic and in the absence of the Rev. Father
Bolin, pastor of the Sullivan Catholic church, the funeral services were
conducted by Rev. Wm. F. Russell, pastor of the Carlisle M. E. church, Saturday,
June 26, and interment took place immediately afterward in the Shepherd cemetery south of town."
