Delbert and Lillian Cady
Influenza, followed by pneumonia, caused the death of a well known Butternut Ridge couple, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Cady, within a few hours of each other Friday, Mar. 24, at City hospital. Mrs. Cady was taken to the hospital March 17 and Mr. Cady the following Monday. Mr. Cady, a lifelong resident of Butternut Ridge, was born June 13, 1866, in the town of Royalton, the son of Frank and Josephine Farley Cady. He was married to Miss Anna Louison in 1889. To them were born two children: (Florence) Mrs. Bertram Fergot, Wautoma; and Robert Cady, Oshkosh. Mrs. Cady died in Robert's infancy. Deceased was married to Miss Lillian Harris in 1900 and they were the parents of three children: Harold, Crystal Lake; (Ethel) Mrs. Emil Prahl, Weyauwega; and (Audrey) Mrs. Clifford Holman, Waupaca. Mrs. Cady a daughter of William and Olive Harris, was born in the town of Lind, Feb. 10, 1878, and following her marriage in 1900 had lived on the farm in Butternut Ridge. Mr. Cady leaves one brother, Ellsworth, of Iola, and one sister, Mrs. Louis Louison, Hartley, SD, and Mrs. Cay's survivors include five brothers and five sisters. They also leave 14 grandchildren. Mr. Cady was active in social and civic affairs, having served on the school board several times and assisted in furthering worthwhile activities in his neighborhood. Funeral services were held at the Bauer Funeral Home Weyauwega, Monday, 2 p.m., with Rev. G. N. Doody officiating.
