RESIDENT OF UNION TOWNSHIP IS DEAD
Mrs. Edna Carter, 70, widow of Ellsworth Carter, widely known Union Township farmer, died at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at Ball Hospital, after an illness of ten days.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Synder, Mrs. Lottie Cox and Mrs. Marie Peterson, all of near Eaton; two sons, John Carter of Eaton and Watson Carter of Lansing, Mich.; two brothers, Jesse Craw and Ross Craw, both of Eaton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the family home, four miles west of Eaton, at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, the Rev. Ralph Keesaer, pastor of the Eaton Methodist Church in charge. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, near Eaton. The body will be removed from the Briggs mortuary in Eaton to the residence, where friends may call after Wednesday morning until the hour of the service.

Edna Craw, first daughter of Richard and Margaret [Watson] Craw was born Dec. 12, 1869, Wheeling, Delaware county, Indiana; died 19 .

She was a farmer's daughter and her childhood and youthful days were spent near where she was born. There were many things to make work easier to perform than in pioneer days, yet the young people were busy at work and school preparing themselves for the duties and business of life.

Edna Craw, daughter of Richard E. and Margaret J. (Watson) Craw, married Ellsworth Carter, son of John Hooper and Bathsheba (Johnson) Carter on August 4, 1887 in Wheeling, Delaware County, Indiana. Ellsworth & Edna had five children: Beulah M., Lottie Lacy, John Richard, Marie N. and Watson Lowell.
