Mildred Ruby Neilson of Brigham City, Utah died Friday, June 17, 2011 after a short illness. She was born in Hemingford, Neb. on June 17, 1921 to Jessie and Elsie Nichols.

She later moved to California where she met her husband, Jacob Neilson. They were married on her birthday in 1943. They moved to Lapoint where Jacob setup and operated a dairy farm. In 1957, they sold the dairy farm and moved to Brigham City. She was employed by various companies, Maddox Steak House, Brigham Apparel and finally she worked for the school lunch program.

She enjoyed traveling and spent time going from state to state to visit family. She also loved music, playing the piano, sewing and other handicraft. Her main interest in life though was being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Mildred is survived by her children, Gordon (Sandy) Neilson of Bonanza, Ore.; Joye (David) Merrell of Brigham City, Utah; Kent (Kimberly) Neilson of Aloha, Ore.; Karma (Hossein) Ovandipour of Allen, Texas; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob and her eldest son, Gary L. Neilson.

A memorial service will be held in Lapoint at a later date.
