George was assigned to the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), which was a United States intelligence agency formed during World War II. It was the wartime intelligence agency, and it was a predecessor of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The OSS was formed in order to coordinate espionage activities behind enemy lines for the branches of the United States Armed Forces.

George Edward Webster was born March 6, 1923 in Fullerton, California to parents George Ross and Lucinda Corona Webster. In 1941 he graduated from Banning High School in Wilmington, CA. After serving in World War II, George came home and married his high school sweetheart, Norma Jeanne Crawford on November 7, 1945. George and Norma were lifelong residents of the Los Angeles Harbor Area. Their 62 year marriage was blessed with one son, two daughters, and six grandchildren. George retired from Shell Oil after 40 years and was a consultant for Irwin Industries.

A beloved husband, father and grandfather, George passed away September 29, 2007 at the age of 84 years.
