| Birth: | Mar. 1, 1855 Panama City Panama, Panama | | Death: | Jul. 5, 1948 Charleston Halifax County North Carolina, USA | Panamanian First Lady. As the wife of Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero, she was a very involved supporter of the separatist movement in 1903. She is referred to as "La Madre de la Patria" and is best recognized for her involvement with the creation of the Panamanian flag. The design was executed by her stepson, Manuel Encarnacion Amador. Due to its treasonous nature, she purchased the cloth at three different locations. In an unoccupied house, along with her niece Angelica Ossa Bergomatta and Maria Amelia Ossa Prescott, three copies were produced on November 1. They were then secretly distributed to be raised upon declaration of independence on November 3. She is also credited with inspiring the plan by which the Panama Railroad was utilized to separate the Colombian generals from their troops, allowing their arrest. Her husband served as Panama's first president from 1904 until 1908. (bio by: BluGraver) Family links: Spouse: Manuel Amador Guerrero (1833 - 1909)
