Elijah was born in Sedalia, Missouri. He met and married his life long mate Annie E Watts 01 Jan 1899. Their one and only child, Ivy, was born March 1900. Sometime after the 1900 Federal Census the family moved to Spokane, Washington and made that their home until his death. He worked for the Spokane Cracker Company as an engineer for many years.
