Son of Christian Deppen "Deppie" and Veronicia Ruchiti. QUOTE FROM "COUNTING KNIDRED":
As we are dealing with the departure from the family homestead--the son (of Christian) found romance on the adjoining farm, marrying the widower Kobel's daughter Barbara on Sept 22, 1772. Frederick Kobel having been massacred by the Indians. The Kobels were of the descripton of Christina Ruchty's deed. The story of the Kobels is one of thrilling adventure and the tradition is Barbara had been a prisioner of the red-skins for 9 months when a child about 10 years of age, and only spared because of her piercing black eyes and staight black hair.
Peter lived on the plantation mentioned in his fathers will, and buying land in Pine Grove township.

Joseph Deppen died before the will of father.
Benjamin Deppen never married
This information came from the "Counting Kindred". The book states that there were no boy babys to carry the Deppen name from Peter down.
On a personal note, it was quite a thrill to find Peter Deppen buried at the Hetzel Cemetery. You see, my mother was from the Deppen and Yeakley family. My father from the Schnepp and Hetzel. Johan Peter Hetzel started this church in a very small 10x14 ft. cabin. It is on the National Historic list. The family names I found in the book, I was familar with because in 1807, most of the men in the Hetzel Church picked up their families and moved to Montgomery Co., Ohio in order to collect their land grants from the Rev.War. The Hetzel family did so too.
