Sarah was the daughter of John Crawford "Cross" McArtor and Susan Bodle. The family moved from Licking County, Ohio to Martin County, Indiana, in the late 1800s, settling on land now within the boundaries of Crane Naval Depot. She and Emanuel married Sept 9, 1865 in Martin County and had 10 children.
Odon Paper--1918 Mrs. Sarah Humerickhouse, who was painfully injured several days ago in a run-a-way accident, is improving rapidly and is able to be about.
Another paper entry 1936--funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Emanuel Humerickhouse at the Methodist Episcopal Church in this city with Rev. H.R. Burton in charge. Interment followed in the Walnut Hill cemetery.
