A native of Germany and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Doty died at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Azalea Villa Nursing Home.
He was employed by B.J. Hughes as a pump operator in the oilfield for 25 years before retiring.
He is survived by two step-daughters, Brenda Robin of Loreauville and Peggy Broussard of Jeanerette; and two step-sons, Mike Verret of Lafayette and Alvin Verret Jr. of Hazelhurt, Miss.
Mr. Doty was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Jolet Doty; his father, Daniel Doty; his mother, Louise Metz Doty; two sisters, Sophie Boudreaux and Marie Doty; a brother, Daniel Doty; and two sisters, Bayon Daly and Dot LaPorte.
