CARTER
Mr. Johnnie E. Carter, 78, of Hurley, Miss., went to be home with his heavenly Father on Sept. 18, 2004, in Pascagoula. He was born Oct. 12, 1925, in Hurley.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Ella Carter; brothers, Elmer and Leon Carter; grandson, Alfred Jerome Moody Jr.; granddaughter, Melissa Diane Moody; sons-in-law, Richard Gordon and Gary Dosher.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Ernestine Carter; son, Ronnie E. (Janet) Carter of Lucedale, Miss.; daughters, Shelia Diane (A.J.) Moody of Orange Grove, Miss., Myrna L. Gordon of Moss Point, Miss. and Brenda L. Dosher of Texas; brother, Bobby Carter of Hurley, Miss., sister, Ina Butler of Hurley, Miss., eight grandchildren, Lee, Christopher, and Amanda Tanner, Jeremy Carter, Dustin Shultz, Nicki Dosher, Ashley Hacker, Tabatha Northrop, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Forrest Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Hurley, Miss. Arrangements by Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point.
