Dorothy Irene-Walker Minks, 98, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the Brunswick Nursing Home.
She was born March 13, 1913, in Sligo, Missouri the daughter of Elber and Annie (Huitt) Walker. She married Lloyd Minks on December 30, 1933 in Kirksville.
She worked at several restaurants in Salisbury. She loved her church, the Keytesville First Baptist Church, and always worked the Vacation Bible School.
She is survived by a son Ray Minks (Charlotte) of Kansas City; two daughters Roberta Taylor of Blue Springs, and June Shannon (Jimmy) of Keytesville; Willard Walker of Salem; lots and lots of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Ann Billups, two brothers Carl Walker and Clarence Walker, and a sister Grace Sturdovant.
Funeral services were Monday, May 9, at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury with Rev. Clyde Enyeart officiating. Burial was in Salisbury City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Shannon Jr., Scott Shannon, Jeff Billups, Tim Billups, Jason Billups and Jimmy Rector. Honorary pallbearers were Debbie Buckler, Rhonda Friesz, Kim Ann Huckabey, and Dawn Shannon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Brunswick Nursing Home Activities Fund.
