Louis was the son of Jacob Blankenhorn, b. Apr. 10, 1807 in Frankenthal-Rhei, Bavaria and d. Sep. 20, 1890 in Poughkeepsie NY & Barbara Joest (Yost), b. Oct. 17, 1817 in Wattenheim-Rhein, Bavaria and d. Sep. 26, 1894 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Jacob and Barbara emigrated from Ulm in Bavaria to the United States in the late 1840's.
Jacob & Barbara had nine children.
Louis married Lillian Apr. 26, 1882 in Milwakee, Wisconsin.
Louis Blankenhorn & Lillian Stevens' children were:

Louis Blankenhorn, a railroad executive, came to Pasadena to live when he retired. His son, David Fergusen Blankenhorn was born there. He became a widely known real estate man. One of his best known deals was the sale of Catalina Island to William Wrigley for $1 million.
