Barbara Joest (Yost), b. Oct. 17, 1817 in Wattenheim-Rhein, Bavaria and d. Sep. 26, 1894 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Jacob and Barbara emigrated from Ulm in Bavaria to the U. S. in the late 1840's. Jacob & Barbara had nine children. Their son, Louis was David's father.

Mr. Blankenhorn, well known in civil engineering circles, resided at 1180 S. Pasadena Ave. He was born in Wisconsin and was a graduate of Cornell University. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gypsy Blankenhorn.
