Ira L. Lawrence, 73, 1728 W. 11th, died Friday in Ball Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Muncie, the son of Charles and Lillie Brown Lawrence
Mr. Lawrence attended city schools and was a life resident of this community. He was employed by Warner Gear prior to his retirement. He previously was employed by Acme-Lees Corp. for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Twila McClain Lawrence; one daughter, Mrs. Jud (Linda) Wright, Muncie; three sisters, Nelle Persinger, Reva Baney, and Dorothy Lawrence, all of Muncie, and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Meeks Mortuary. Rev. Earl Vaughn will officiate. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 2-5 p.m. today.
