Vallie M. Vogel, 92, of Waco, formerly of Otto, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, at St. John's United Church of Christ Church in Otto with the Rev. Larry Felice officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation with the family will follow the ceremony.

Vallie was born in Ringgold, Texas, to the late W. Luewig Kuehne and Erika (Denke) Kuehne, and was raised in Edmond, Okla. She married Henry Gottleib Vogel on Oct. 16, 1938, in Edmond, Okla., and then moved to Otto, Texas, where she lived up until 2004, when she moved to Waco. Vallie was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ all of her adult life. She was a very loving and caring person who dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She never met a stranger and loved helping others.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Vogel in 1982; and daughter, Betty Lou Luedke in 2009.

Survivors include son, Gary Vogel and wife, Cheryl, of Waco; daughter, Janet Kolb and husband, Roger, of Winter Park, Fla.; grandchildren, Kent and Jennifer Vogel, Beth Myers, Ray Luedke, Ron Luedke, Lynn and Craig Veal, Mark and Lisa Kolb, Michael Kolb, Bruce and Jessica Fadal, and Murray and Kim Evans; and 12 great-grandchildren.
