Abraham was the second husband of Harriet (Hemminger) Albert Hemminger (1841-1913). They were married on September 8, 1864 in Marshall County, Indiana. Abraham's first wife was Cynthia (Bixley) Ranstead Hemminger (1825-1864). Abraham and Cynthia were married on December 26, 1853 in Marshall County, Indiana. Abraham was the father of three boys with Cynthia (Uriah, Cyrus and W. Silas Hemminger) and four girls with Harriet (Charity, Mariah, Matilda "Tilly" and an infant daughter Hemminger). Abraham was the son of Jacob J. Hemminger and Sarah (Jolly) Hemminger.
Obituary from the Bremen Enquirer, September 6, 1895, Bremen, Indiana:
Abraham Hemminger, an old settler, residing one and a half miles west of Oak Grove, died on Tuesday morning, after an illness of six months. He was 64 years old. The funeral services were held at the U. B. church in Bremen Thursday at 11:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. G. T. Butler.
