| Birth: | Aug. 24, 1844 | | Death: | Sep. 10, 1891 |  US Congressman. He entered the Union Army on August 11, 1862, and was mustered in as a Private and Wagoner in Company I, 21st Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. He eventually received promotions to Corporal, Sergeant and 1st Sergeant before being commissioned as a 1st Lieutenant on November 21, 1864. He served through the end of the war, and was honorably mustered out on June 8, 1865. After the war he served in the Wisconsin State Legislature in 1885, as as the Mayor of Neenah, Wisconsin from 1880 to 1883 before he was elected to represent Wisconsin's 6th District in the United States House of Representatives. He served from 1887 until his death in office in 1891. (bio by: Russ Dodge)
